Style for Self-Care | Interior Design Tips

*Candle gifted by Kathy Kuo

Good morning, everyone! I’m here with some curated self care tips and styles for relaxation and making one’s space at home feel peaceful and serene.

What with many people staying at home these days, it is only natural to want the space you are always in to be a reflection of calm, not the chaos outside.

Tips:

Incorporate your favorite scents into the space

Aromatherapy can be a huge helper when it comes to making a space more relaxed and inviting. Try out different scents until you find the one best suited for you.

I’ve been using the L'Objet Malachite Global Bazaar Green Porcelain Gold Accent Scented Candle which features a pink champagne scent lately.

My go-to scents are either light and floral or dark and mysterious, depending on my mood. I’m a huge fan of sandalwood and jasmine as well!

Try not to clutter too much

I’m guilty of this myself; I tend to forget about things if they are tucked away, but there really is no better way to look around a space and receive peace of mind if everything is strewn around.

Focus on a few nice show pieces (see above) and invest in pretty cabinets and organization to hide the clutter.

Candles are always a good decision

Absolutely do not underestimate the healing power of candles. Just 20 minutes of lighting a candle can vastly improve the space’s energy and feel.

Pick a theme and stick to it!

Lastly, if you can, pick a theme and stick to it! Disjointed rooms with no identity make for a disjointed living experience. If your theme is white and gold, stick to it! If your them is shabby chic, all the better! Just try to stick with a similar theme as best you can; your psyche will thank you.

I hope these tips help curate your self care-friendly space, and thank you to Kathy Kuo for sending me the candle that inspired this article! It is currently sitting on my desk burning as I write this.

Readers can purchase the candle I featured here, as well as many other gorgeous offerings from Kathy Kuo. If I could redo my entire house with Kathy Kuo, I would! You'll see when you check out their site. (Try not to drool. :D )

Have a blessed, self-care filled day.

Xoxo
