Hannah's cruelty-free sunscreen picks for your face in 2021

“But Hannah! You are a pale ghost person and you live in Las Vegas, the literal surface of the sun! A wasteland! How do you protect your skin?!”

That’s a great question, friendo.

First off, I rarely go outside if I do not absolutely have to. And I wear a giant hat and carry an umbrella and wear a huge kaftan if I must venture out. ::hiss::

In addition to all that, here are my holy grail sunscreens. This cruelty-free sunscreen pick roundup focuses on the products I use mainly for my face - I’ll cover full body sunscreen in a different post because I feel like a good facial moisturizer/sunscreen is so much harder to find for the sensitive-skin set like myself.

With that said, here are my facial moisturizer/sunscreen picks that I wear daily!

OSEA Malibu | Atmosphere Protection Cream

I usually apply OSEA’s Atmosphere Protection Cream first; the antioxidant rich oils and organic seaweed firm my skin and leave a silky finish, and the lightweight formula provides barrier protection against extreme climates (such as Vegas.)

PS: Use code HANNAHATOMIC10 to take 10% off site wide at OSEA!

AVEGAN Beauty | Plant Based Recharge Day Cream

Next in my routine, this cream uses patent-pending FortiSomes, d-ribose, and titanium dioxide to shield skin from stress and environmental damage. It is fragrance free as well!

Supergoop! | Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40

This goes on last in my skincare routine, but before makeup. You’ve seen me gush about it before.

The Unseen Sunscreen is the best sunscreen I’ve found, doesn’t leave white streaks at ALL (because it goes on like a gel), and doesn’t irritate my skin.

Love everything this company puts out - their sunscreen is the bomb.

Erasa | SPF 30 | Lifting/Sculpting Créme Face, Neck, and Décolletage

You may remember Violet Grey gifting this beauty to me, and I’ve been using it religiously since every morning. (This technically goes on before my Supergoop!)

Not only does it provide precious SPF 30, but it tightens the skin on my neck which every 30+ year old may notice is not what it once was. Ah, life.

And there you have it! I hope this sheds some light (see what I did there) on how I protect my skin during these unbelievably miserable, scorching months of summer in Las Vegas. I also hope it helps those of you on your own quest for skin protection.
